A resident of the Borough received a phone call today from a person he believed to be a representative of the Chambersburg Police Dept. The suspect spoofed the CPD phone number. The resident was defrauded for $600.00 after he was told that this amount was needed to be paid immediately to clear fraud charges against him.  Please be aware of this scam and do not provide any payment or transfer of funds over the phone. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately and contact your local Law Enforcement Agency to report the incident.
