The Waynesboro Police Department provides 24/7/365 law enforcement services to a population of 10,568 (2010) in a 3.5 sq mile Borough situated in the southern portion of Franklin County. The agency consists of one Sergeant who reports directly to the Chief of Police. The Sergeant supervises 4 corporals and a staff of 12 patrol officers. One Detective and a Detective Corporal report directly to the Chief of Police and provide general investigative services for the department.
Child abuse allegations received by the department are investigated by the Office of The District Attorney’s Special Victims Detective. One Administrative Assistant and one Records Clerk provide support services for the agency and report directly to the Chief of Police.
The department is assisted in outreach and social services by a community liaison provided through the co-responders project sponsored by Franklin / Fulton MH/ID/EI and Keystone Rural Health.
