Medical SCAM

On 7/8/2019 the Chambersburg Police were notified about a potential scam that occurred to a Chambersburg resident.  The resident explained that on 7/6/19 a tall, slender, African American male knocked on his door, claiming to represent a medical company.  The male was wearing nurses "scrubs" and was clean shaven.  The resident said the male needed to confirm the resident's identity and photographed the resident's social security card and PA ID card.  The male explained to the resident that he was there to gather "DNA" to provide insight to whether or not the residents medications were working for him.  The male never provided any identification and the resident was provided no notice from his doctor that someone would be coming to his residence.

Citizen's are reminded to stay vigilant when looking out for potential scams.  If something doesn't seem right, contact the Chambersburg Police Department immediately prior to providing any information to anyone that may be questionable.
