**Update: The Chambersburg Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for Basil Sylvester McLeod as a result of an investigation into the shooting, which occurred on 6/3/2022. The investigation revealed that McLeod brandished a handgun during a verbal altercation in the 500 block of S. Main St. in Chambersburg. McLeod fired a round into the air and then at a residence during this verbal altercation. The residence was occupied by Aaron Pigford, a 22-year-old male, who retrieved a gun and fired twice at McLeod in an effort to protect himself and others in the area. Pigford was not involved in the original verbal altercation. McLeod was struck twice in the torso/chest area. He was air-lifted to the York Hospital. At this time it is believed that McLeod is in stable condition. Neither Pigford nor any other bystanders were struck by gunfire. On 6/3/2022 at approximately 2:01 AM the Chambersburg Police Department responded to the 500 block of S. Main St. in Chambersburg, Pa for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a 36-year-old male with two gunshot wounds to his torso and chest area. The male was life-flighted to the York Hospital and is currently in stable condition. During the investigation, it was found that there was a second individual, a 22-year-old male, who had also fired a handgun. This male was not struck by any gunfire. This investigation is still active and further information will be provided as it is available. It is important to note that this incident was an isolated incident between the involved persons and the public is not in danger.
