The Chambersburg Police Dept has identified the owner of the vehicle and the investigation is on going.  Anyone with specific information regarding the whereabouts and activities of the owner prior to the accident may submit a tip to Chambersburg Police Dept. 

On 10/11/2017 at approximately 2220hrs. the Chambersburg Police Department was called to the area of 820 Wayne Ave. for a pedestrian crash.  It was found that the pedestrian, who was riding a bicycle on Wayne Ave, was struck by a vehicle.  The vehicle then fled the scene prior to police arrival.  The victim's bike was not located, but is a black BMX style bike with red lettering.  The bike also had front and rear pegs.  In addition the victim's bike will be missing a seat as the seat was found at the scene of the crash.  It is believed the suspect vehicle is a maroon Subaru Forester.  The Forester will be missing a chrome accent piece on the passenger side.  The vehicle also had a "T" Tennessee Volunteers license plate, black and silver, on the front, which was found at the scene of the crash.  If anyone has any information regarding the suspect vehicle they can contact the Chambersburg Police Department or leave a tip on Crime Watch.  Please reference Incident Number 2017-11304 in any Crime Watch tip.
