On 08/02/2018 at approx. 2131, Luis Avila-Munguia was stopped by CPD for multiple traffic violations. Avila-Munguia showed signs of impairment of an alcoholic beverage. Avila-Munguia was subsequently arrested for DUI. Avila-Munguia was committed to the Franklin County Jail.
On 09/01/2018 at approx. 0254, an unknown person removed a motorcycle helmet from a motorcycle parked in the Denny's parking lot. A picture of similar helmet is shown. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chambersburg Police (717) 264-4131 or leave a tip.

Case Status:

On 08/22/2018, CPD units were dispatched to Giant on Wayne Ave. Witnesses observed a female enter into a vehicle and remove a bookbag valued at $30. The female was identified as Rachel Brodbeck, from photographs taken by the victim. Brodbeck was later arrested for theft from a motor vehicle.
A warrant has been issued William B. Burr, Waynesboro, has been charged with recklessly endangering another person and discharging a firearm in the borough after an incident occurred on May 17 at 1:00 p.m. on N. Church Street.
